Lakewood Ranch golf neighborhoods
- Lakewood Ranch Country Club: Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club has 72 holes on 4 courses and 3 clubhouses. It is owned and operated by Heritage Golf Group.
- Calusa Country Club: the developer says golf membership is bundled, with an 18-hole championship course and a 12-hole short course designed by Gordon Lewis.
- Esplanade at Azario: a gated neighborhood with a championship golf course, pro shop and aqua driving range.
- Lakewood National and Esplanade Golf & Country Club also appear on the developer's community map as golf neighborhoods.

Courses open to everyone
- Manatee County owns two public 18-hole courses, managed by Fusion Golf: Manatee County Golf Course in Bradenton and Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Palmetto.
- Bobby Jones Golf Club, the City of Sarasota's municipal course, reopened on December 16, 2023 with its restored 18-hole Donald Ross course. Its 9-hole adjustable Gillespie course is open too.

What to check first
- Is membership bundled, optional or by invitation? Ask for the current dues, initiation and transfer fees in writing.
- Homes on a fairway can get stray golf balls. Look at the screens, windows and roof, and read any golf-course easements.
- HOA disclosure summary before you sign (Fla. Stat. 720.401), plus Stewardship District or CDD lines on the tax bill.
- Flood zone (FEMA) and an insurance quote.
